I met so many awesome peeps up in Wellington, and said "I have a blog! Look me up! I'll be writing about this!" Looks like it's not going to happen this week. Much apologies, I'm letting you down.
I dragged my sorry butt to the Doctor's this morning, on day 13 of feeling rotten. She said it's influenza, not a bacterial complication from a common cold, so nothing can be done to get rid of it except rest. I have the South Island Powerlifting Champs in Christchurch on this Saturday. Basically, the Doc told me I have a choice between getting shit done and getting better by Saturday.
I get shit done by living according to my priorities. I decide what is the most important, what can realistically be done in the time available, and then action that. Right now, blogging about the Bad As VI and the weekend in Wellington, much as I want to, is just not high enough on the priority list to make it into the 'time available' this week.
I'm focussing on looking after my family (not my house, housework doesn't rank high enough) looking after myself enough that I won't be useless at lifting on Saturday, and getting my work (jewellery and gardening) done enough so that I won't be coming home to a stupid-big workload after the South Islands. I'm also supposed to be driving to Invercargill for a board meeting Thursday. We'll see how that goes. Hard Working Husband wants me to do well at the South Islands as much as I do, so he's being a gem and picking up some of my slack.
Again, apologies if you've taken the time to look up my blog to read about the Bad As VI. I'll write it up when I'm a bit more healthy. In the meantime, check out hundreds of great photographs of the event on MaD CrossFit's Flickr page.
